Just the best day... EVER!!!!

Mom and Dad stayed home in the morning, that is an indication that it is going to be a good day. But, this day turned out to be a great day!

First we hopped in the car, but we didn't go to the Bark Park. I was a little nervous about that. We don't always end up some place fun. But, this time we ended up in a great place.

Part of the crowd.

We ended up in a cool place called "Carmel". I had never been there before, but Dad kept talking about how Bubs Burgers was just down the road, so I think he had been there once before.

P1060131
Lucky woman with three beautiful doggies. I'd like to go play at her house.

There were people and dogs everywhere. It was pretty exciting. I met a lot of neat new dogs and people. Everyone that I met told me I am really handsome. Heee...Heee... that is fun to hear. There were treats everywhere. I liked this place a lot.

P1060138
Sampson, Baxter and Laney

Then to make a great place even better, I ran into a bunch of my Bark Park buddies. There was Sampson, Baxter, Bailey, Laney, Buddy, Blake, and a couple of new friends I just met at the park, Molly and Lucy were there too.

Blake and me.

This place was pretty cool, and we walked up and down and check everything out pretty well. I could have stayed longer. But, Mom and Dad get tired quick. I think it is because they only have the two legs.

But, they said they had someplace else to stop before we went home. I said I was in for whatever they had planned. So, we hopped in the car and we were off again.

Fishers YMCA Doggie Dip

We ended up at the neatest Bark Park in the world. It is called the Fishers YMCA Doggie Dip. I am begging Mom and Dad to join.

P1060162
Mom talking me into jumping in the deep end.

The first thing Mom wanted me to do was "go swimming". She took me over to where some people and dogs were like in the worlds biggest bath tub. It did not look fun to me. But, mom talked me into jumping in. MISTAKE! "going swimming" is not fun! What is the point of having to thrash around in the water to keep from sinking... No thank you!

P1060160
Going wading

Luckily they had a wading pool. Now that is what I am talking about! You can run around in there and still keep your feet on the ground. Makes it a lot easier to chase down tennis balls.

Wading is my kind of sport!

My brother from a different mother, Cooper.

Then as if this place wasn't already almost perfect. I found a bunch of my bark park buddies that were here. So, I had some great buddies to play with.

And... after a while I discovered that some dogs and people brought in things that they apparently didn't really want too much. And, since I wanted them, I just started playing with their toys.

Me checking out some free stuff.

Also, the people would leave their stuff out. So, I figured that meant that I was allowed to use their stuff too. But, after I checked out a few bags, Dad came over and started pushing me away. HEY!!!! It isn't nice to push.

P1060194
Mom trying to talk me into swimming again.

Mom kept trying to talk me into going swimming again. But, you know... been there, done that... don't want the t-shirt.

P1060199
Mom stopping me from having fun for a few seconds.

So, it was back over to the wading pool. That is where the fun was at. We stayed until they made us leave. It just the best day ever. I hope we get to go back to that place soon... like tomorrow... or tonight.

And, if all of that wasn't enough fun, we ended up going to the bark park later too... HA!!! man... we should do that every day.

Shannon's Birthday

Some of the gang at the party.

Laney said she was going to moon the camera in the group picture. I didn't believe her, but she did it. Laney is a lot of fun. I'm the beautiful golden dog between Zoey and Sandy over on the left side of the picture.

If that lady in the pink shirt lowers her hand down about 2 feet, that cake will be mine.

My people are always looking for some reason to have cake. And, I sure don't blame them. Cake is one of my favorite things. Having cake at the Bark Park is like eating cake in heaven, or at least how I imagine it would be.

Shannon is a golden doodle that is like practically my cousin because we are both 1/2 golden. It was Shannon's birthday at the bark park recently. Wow... talk about the best time ever! Shannon must have the coolest people in the world. Because they actually brought out two cakes. OOOOoooo!

It was apparently a record turn out for the bark park. I heard that there were 19 dogs there at one time. And, there were a few that left, and then others came while I was there. So, I think there must have been around 23 different dogs there while I was there. Oh... in case I forgot to mention it, there was also two cakes there.

One of the best turn outs ever at the park.

Since Shannon and I are like cousins, I figured I was welcome to lots of cake. So, ran down there quick and got my cake. Then, every time someone had a some cake, and they held it down by me... or at least held down lower than I how high can jump, I got that cake also.

P1050115
Looking for some unguarded cake.

After about my fourth piece of cake I heard some people telling dad that I had already eaten a bunch of cake and they were worried about me getting sick. But, getting sick from cake??!!!! That makes no sense at all. Cake is a good thing. The more of a good thing you have it makes it just that much better. You can't have too much of a good thing. That is what I always say.

Dad leashed me up and held on to me for a while, so other dogs could get their cake... but, I don't know why he did that. I was kind of mad about that for a while.

Since there were so many dogs there I got to see all of my best friends. I always love it when Cooper is there. We played a lot. But, Cooper doesn't like balloons, so he stayed away the area where the cake was, because there was balloon there. I think that is smart. There are some balloons that I stay away from too.

P1050109
Cooper staying away from the balloon.

Near the end of the party my buddy Murray bet me a dog biscuit that he could jump up and get the rest of the cake. He gave it a good try, but Baily's mom caught him and made him get down. Good effort Murray. I think we can call that one a a tie.

Good day at the park again! Looking forward to seeing more of my friends out there, and hopefully one day soon, more cake.

Perfect Day!

We had a really great day today. The weather was perfect. You know... not too hot, not too cold. The kind of day where all you wanted to do was just wrestle and run all day. And, Luckily for a change, my people were thinking the same thing. We all took off for the Bark Park.

One of my favorite games is to get a toy and keep it away from the other dogs. So, I saw Abbie had a really great toy, and I decided to get it! What fun!!!

Hmmmm, that wasn't what was supposed to happen

Fine, if I'm not going to get the toy, then it is a good day for wrestling.

Wrestling with Abbie

Some dogs really like to run. I mean, I kind of like to run, but I don't like to show off when I run like some dogs do. They are all like "Look at me, I'm really fast". And, I'm kind of more like, "Hey, I'm fast too, I just don't like everyone to know it." You know... I kind of keep that to myself. So, I watch the other dogs running, more than I run along with them. But, every now and then, on a perfect day like this, I will run a little.

P1020022
Rose and Lily came in, and they are FAST!

P1020018
Kaya was keeping up with Rose (... or is that one Lily?)

P1020065
Laney is fast.

Besides the usual gang that was there, we had a few new dogs come in. I always like seeing new dogs come in. It is a little tense meeting a new dog for the first time. You never know who is going to be nice, and who is going to be grouchy. But, all of the new dogs today were in a good mood and a lot of fun. I hope they come back.

P1020045
Met a new doggie named Reily.

It was just an ideal day out at the park. I could have stayed and played all day.

P1020030
P1010962
Sometimes the birds like to play too... not sure why.

P1020037
Luckily (for them) the big monster birds just watch.

P1020057
Laney was hanging out with us.

P1020053

Laney found something good to roll in.

I think I have mentioned before how my people really like cake. They found another reason to have more cake. In fact this time they actually had two cakes. Can you believe my people? The excuse this time was Dad and my brother Adam both have birthdays this week. I guess that is as good a reason for cake as anything else.

My people and their cake!

My sister Lindsey and her boy friend Alex were there too. They also got cake even though it wasn't their birthdays. But, some how, I was left out of the cake. The only sour note in an otherwise perfect symphony of a day!

Hope you all had a great day too!

Woofstock '09

Mom, Dad and I had a great time at Woofstock. My buddy Laney already wrote up a great description of how much fun it is. You can find her article on it here.

So, I won't go over the whole event, but I wanted to publish a few more pictures from Woofstock.

My buddy Sandy and I found a little bit of time to wrestle while the people rested. It was a little difficult with the leashes. But, for some reason we aren't allowed to run free at Woofstock.

Buddy is another basset. We had a chance to play for a while too.
P1010224

Mom and I did the walk again, with a bunch of our friends from the bark park. Last time with did it at Mutt Strut, I think I might have won. Not that I really care about wins and loses... but, I think I won... Not sure how I did at this one. But, I felt like I was doing pretty good.
P1010256

I almost entered the talent show. But, the first dog that went was like some kind of circus dog that was practically doing math, and riding a bike on a high wire. I mean... show off!

Woofstock was a good time. Except for that one show off dog. Otherwise it was great. Can't wait to do it again.

Big Sister's B-day

My people are always trying to find some reason to eat cake. And, I love a good bone cake, so I do not blame them for that. The excuse this time was my big sister's birthday. She is like 23 in people years, which makes her just a little over 3 in real years. So, she is just a little be older than me. That is why we like so many of the same things.

First mom and I hid to try and surprise her.
P1010199

But, dad was standing there with his big old camera, so I don't think she was fooled.

Lindsey had a lot of stuff to open up and play with. So, I hung out right next to her just in case she needed help opening anything, or playing with anything.

P1010207

One of Lindsey's presents was this really cool ball. It was like the greatest ball in the world. I could just imagine if the gang at the bark park could see me with that ball... oooo... they would be jealous. I asked Lindsey really nicely if I could play with it. Well... actually when she put it on the ground I just started playing with it. But, it was on the ground. Stuff on the ground I get to play with. So, it was kind of like I asked nicely.

Unfortunately, just when I finally got a good grip on it, it make a loud noise *pop*. And, after that it looked a lot less like a ball. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Happy Birthday Lindsey. You are cool big sister.
